As part of the finale weekend, this exhibition of photographs by local photographers highlighted 30 of the Brunel 200 arts projects that took place in Bristol, along with the memorable fireworks and launch event. The exhibition was displayed at the CREATE Centre in Bristol, and was open for 4 weeks.
Mark Simmons worked closely with the artists who devised the 30 projects shown here, with assistance from Steve Thomas. Their photographs capture the projects during the development stages as well as public responses to the final work produced.

Paul Box and Kevin Clifford worked alongside artists and organisers involved in the Brunel 200 launch, photographing rehearsals, performances and the stunning firework display at Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The photographs demonstrate both the hard work and the enjoyment that went
into creating an unforgettable evening, which celebrates not only Brunel
and a selection of activities that have formed part of the Brunel 200 programme,
but also Bristol’s diverse and talented creative community.

Feedback from the exhibition included:
“I saw the lovely exhibition of photographs, which captured the real enthusiasm of all the people involved in the different projects. It looked really good. Well done - and well done for all the Brunel things - I'm sure you must all be very pleased with what happened”.
